Kathleen D. Lewetag

Kathleen (Kathy) Denise (Simonetti) Lewetag, 60 of Bairdford, West Deer Township, died Thursday February 24, 2022 after a courageous battle with a rare form of lung cancer at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh with her family by her side. She was born October 25, 1961 in New Kensington to Rudolph and Dolores A. (Reed) Simonetti of Russellton. Kathy grew up in Springdale, graduating from Deer Lakes High School in 1979 after moving to West Deer. She earned her accounting degree from Robert Morris University while raising her family. Kathy is a CPA and had worked at PNC Bank for 20 years. Kathy enjoyed socializing with neighborhood friends on her evening walks with her fur babies. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, West Deer. Kathy loved music, the outdoors, spending time with her cherished grandchildren and traveling.

Besides her parents she is survived by her husband of 38 years Lindsay K. Lewetag, her daughters Nicole Lewetag of Parrish, FL and Nadine (Zachary) Bayer of Shaler, her grandchildren Maizy Monroe, Danika Rose, Valynn Hollidae, Remi Martin, Nikos Lee (Lewetag), Cash Joseph, and Dylan Kathleen (Bayer), her siblings Brenda McDonald of Creighton, Rosalie (Art) Gall of Curtisville and Fred (Debra) Simonetti of Henderson, NV.

A celebration of Kathy’s life will be planned for May 7, 2022 at Deer Lakes Park Veterans 1 Pavilion from 12pm-6pm. Arrangements were entrusted to the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton. Memorial contributions in Kathy’s name may be sent to either, the Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh, Cancer Research Institute or the West Deer Township Parks and Recreation.
