August 10, 1943 ~ July 4, 2023 (age 79) 79 Years Old

Obituary

Kenneth P. Jaros, 79, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2023 after a 2.5-year battle with Esophageal Cancer. Ken was born August 10, 1943 to Walter and Cecilia (Mrozowicz) Jaros and grew up in Aspinwall & O’Hara Township before moving to West Deer where he spent most of his life.  Currently he was living with his daughter in Moon Township. He was a graduate of Aspinwall High School from which he has very fond memories, including singing in his acapella group, The Aladdins. He was a proud veteran of the US Air Force which he served from 1963 to 1967 as an Airman 1st class. Ken was an avid golfer and loved his weekly tee times with his buddies.  He even got a hole in one which he was very proud of. He enjoyed listening to his Doo-Wop, often singing along. He was a member of St. Victor and now Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, West Deer for many years, serving as a Eucharistic Minister and helping run the weekly Bingo as part of the Men’s Club.

He is survived by his children, Jeff (Renee) Jaros of Lansing, MI and Susan (Troy) Wicks of Moon Township; as well as his 4 grandchildren (who called him Pap Pap), Adam, Julia, Jack & Evan. He is also survived by his siblings, Robert (Elizabeth), Dennis (Linda) and Diane (Dennis). Also survived by many nieces and nephews whom he adored. And we can’t leave out his beloved dog, Snooks who called him Poppy.  Through his second marriage he is survived by stepchildren Casey (Rick) Gold and Bryan (Erin) Watterson as well as their children Bryan, Derek, Danny, Jim, Carly, David and Ryan.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Lynda (Crissman) Jaros whom he was married to for 33 wonderful years, also his 2nd wife Myke Watterson whom he loved dearly.

Family and friends will be welcome Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 at SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer, where a blessing service will be Saturday 10am.  He will be laid to rest with his wife, Lynda at Lakewood Memorial Gardens in Cheswick, PA.
