Lawrence “Larry” Tabacchi, formerly of Bairdford, West Deer, PA died unexpectedly yet peacefully in the presence of his family on Friday, August 25 at the age of 93. Born October 13, 1929, in Bairdford, he lived his entire life in the community. He was a proud Navy veteran, passionate golfer, hunter, and devoted and loving family man. Larry is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law Denise and Jeff Crane of Churchill and Sharon and Stephen Wayhart of Scott Twp.; step-grandchildren Karrie Crane (Ron) Belldegrun and Jeffrey Crane; two step-greatgrandchildren; sisters Dolores “Dee” (George) Rapp of Lower Burrell and Marlene (Gene) Simonetti of West Deer, brother-in-law Donald Simonetti of West Deer and long-time friend Eleanor “Bella” Bassetti and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Ferucio and Caroline "Carrie" Paszek Tabacchi and sister Nancy Simonetti. He graduated from West Deer High School in 1948. He worked for Air Products in Creighton for 33 years and was a devout, life-long member of Our Lady of the Lakes (formerly St. Victor R. C. Church) in Bairdford, PA. Larry brought an immense sense of joy and warmth to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His infectious smile and genuine kindness created an aura of comfort and camaraderie wherever he went. As a father, Larry was a true beacon of guidance and support, tirelessly offering his wisdom, encouragement, love - and a golf tip or two - to his beloved and devoted daughters Denise and Sharon. He taught life's valuable lessons and led by example, instilling in them the importance of integrity, love, and compassion. Golf held a special place in Larry's heart among his many passions. Rose Ridge Golf Course, also known as "The Ditch", along with his backyard tees and greens that led into Bairdford Park, were his sanctuaries where he found peace and joy. Rose Ridge was where he forged lasting friendships with his “Broken Tees” golf league buddies and shared countless laughter-filled moments. He managed his golf league for 25 years, winning more than his fair share of matches and titles. His dedication to the sport was inspiring, reminding us all to pursue our passions with the same unwavering determination he displayed on the links.
