Lynn B. Haines, 72 of Russellton, West Deer Township, died Friday August 27, 2021 at West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born January 19, 1949 in Bairdford to the late Wallace M. and Jean C. (Klinger) Haines, Sr. Lynn grew up in Bairdford graduating from West Deer High School in 1968. Lynn enlisted in the US Army, serving his country during the Vietnam War, achieving the rank of Specialist 5th Class. He worked for Allegheny Ludlum Steel, Brackenridge, as an equipment operator for over 30 years, until he retired in 2005. Lynn was one of the first volunteers for West Deer EMS, volunteering as an ambulance driver and was a long time member of the North America Horseman’s Association. Lynn enjoyed horseback riding, fishing, hunting, motorcycle riding and the outdoors.
Survivors include his longtime companion Marie Monarko, with whom he lived, his sons Erik Haines of West Deer and Brian (Deidre) Haines of Russellton; grandchildren Abbie and Zoey; siblings Wallace M. “Sonny” (Nancy) Haines, Jr. of Sharpsburg, Charles A. Haines of Canyon County, CA and Ronald L. (Shelly) Haines of Sligo.
At Lynn’s request all viewing, services and burial were private. He was buried with full military honors in Lakewood Memorial Gardens, Indiana Township. Arrangements were entrusted to the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer.
