Mae S. (Stewart) DeVore, 98 of Cranberry Township, formerly of Lehigh Acres, FL, passed peacefully on Wednesday August 19, 2020. She was born January 23, 1922 in Charleroi, to the late Alexander F. and Eva (Johnson) Stewart. Mae worked as an LPN for 15 years in Aspinwall. She enjoyed attending the Sherwood Oaks Sunday Services and belonged to the Sherwood Oaks Sew n’ Sew group knitting caps for kids and also belonged to the Lehigh Florida Hospital Auxiliary and WWII USO Canteen. Mae enjoyed volunteering for the Lehigh Schools, traveling and socializing with her friends and family.
Survivors include her sons Jeffrey S. (Marj) DeVore of Fontana, WI, Patrick B. (Suzie) DeVore of Wexford and Alan J. (Shelli) DeVore of Arcadia, MI, 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Guy C. DeVore, her son Guy C. DeVore, Jr., her sister Bess Stewart Clutter and her brother William Stewart.
A private celebration of Mae’s life will be held in Cannan Valley, WVa the location of 45 years of family reunions. Arrangements were entrusted to the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer Township. The family suggests memorial contributions be sent in Mae’s name to Sherwood Oaks Employee Appreciation Fund, 100 Norman Drive Cranberry Township, PA 16066.
