Marlene A. (Venesky) Lichtenfels, 78 of Penns Hills, formerly of Russellton, died peacefully on Friday, January 31, 2020 at her home. She was born August 30, 1941 in Russellton to the late Theodore J. and Julia (Peleski) Venesky. Marlene has lived in Penn Hills for the past 4 ½ years, though lived in Russellton the remainder of her life. She was a member of Transfiguration R.C. Church, Russellton and the Polish National Alliance. Marlene worked at the UMWA Miners Clinic in Russellton as a medical records clerk for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening and especially loved her cat Toby which just passed on Wednesday.
Survivors include her daughter Michelle L. Testarella of Fla.; 4 grandsons and 4 great-grandchildren; her sisters Patricia (Robert) Eckenrod of West Deer and Theodora Smith of Tarentum.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ray Lichtenfels in 1997; her son Michael R. Armstrong and her brother Robert L. Venesky.
Friends will be received Tuesday from to 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. in SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer, where parting prayers will be conducted Wednesday at 9:30 am with a Catholic Funeral Mass following in Transfiguration R.C. Church with the Rev. James P. Holland, officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her family in Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Frazer Township.
