Mary Rose (Bordonaro) Ambrosi, formerly of West Deer Township, died April 16, 2024 in Santa Rosa California due to complication of a broken leg. She was 94 years old. Mary was born February 1, 1930 in Tarentum, to John and Angeline M. (Cianciolo) Bordonaro and was the 4th of five children. She graduated in 1949 from Tarentum High School. On September 6, 1954 she married James V. Ambrosi of Superior, West Deer, and had one child Therese. In 1986, after the closure of the Culmerville mine, her husband, Jim found employment in California at Deer Hollow Farm, an environmental education park, and the couple moved to Mountain View, California. After Jim's retirement they moved to Healdsburg in Sonoma County where they lived for 26 years. In 2018, due to declining health, the couple moved to an assisted living community in Santa Rosa. She was a member of St. John the Baptist R.C. Church. She volunteered at the Senior Center in Healdsburg, CA, Mary enjoyed playing cards, crafts, singing, knitting, walking and traveling.
Survivors include her daughter Therese Ambrosi Smith and son-in-law Barry of Half Moon Bay, CA.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James V. Ambrosi on October 24, 2020, her brothers Joseph J. Bordonaro and Jerome “Jim” V. Bordonaro and her sisters Antoinette M. Welsh and Carmella B. Lord.
The family invites all to attend a funeral mass for Mrs. Ambrosi, Friday August 16, 2024 at 10 am in Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, Transfiguration Campus, with the Rev. James P. Holland, officiating. She will be laid to rest with husband Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Frazer Township.
