Mary L. (Mastraieni) Handrahan, 85 of Concord, NC, formerly of West Deer Township, died Saturday April 27, 2024 at Tucker Hospice, Kannapolis, NC. She was born July 18, 1938 in Pittsburgh to the late Joseph “Steve” and Yolanda (DeBattista) Mastraieni, Sr. Mary grew up in Pittsburgh graduating from St. Mary’s of the Mount High School in 1956. After she married, she moved to West Deer, living here, raising her children and caring for her home, husband and children for 27 years. Mary was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, St. Victor Church, where she sung in the church choir. She then moved to Concord, NC, spending 27 years there as well. Mary enjoyed cooking, going on cruises and her family.
Survivors include her sons Paul (Andrea) Handrahan of Concord, NC, Steven Handrahan of Curtisville, West Deer and Scott (Kim) Handrahan of Zelienople, grandchildren Nathan and Emily Handrahan and Jacob (Kira) Lavrich of Butler, siblings Joseph Mastraieni, Jr. of Pittsburgh, James (Terri) Mastraieni of Miami, FL and Angela Shimko of Pittsburgh.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Edward P. Handrahan in 1987.
At Mary’s request a private blessing service will be held at Lakewood Memorial Gardens, Indiana Township where she will be laid to rest next to her husband. Arrangements were entrusted to the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer Township.
