Mary Jo (Cain) O’Rourke, 79 of West Deer Township, died peacefully at her home with her family by her side. She was born December 12, 1946 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late James M. and Josephine H. (Rishel) Cain. Mary Jo grew up in Hampton graduating from Hampton High School in 1964. She has lived in West Deer for the past 50 years. Mary Jo was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, West Deer. She worked over 15 years for the Deer Lakes School District as an Administrative Assistant to the Principal of the Elementary School, then for the High School, retiring in 2009. Her greatest joy was caring for her family, especially her husband, sons and the grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years Raymond E. O’Rourke, Sr. her sons Raymond E. (John) O’Rourke of Dormont, Kevin S. (Erin) O’Rourke of West Deer and Sean P. (Victoria) O’Rourke of Latrobe, her grandchildren Jacob (Ashley) Hice, Elora O’Rourke, Parker O’Rourke and Brooks O’Rourke, her siblings Father Frederick L. Cain of West Deer, Robert F. (Carol) Cain of Delta, Ohio, Bernard V. “Bing” (Jayne) Cain of Gibsonia, Ellen T. (William) Schollaert of Butler, PA, Patrick R. (Amy) Cain of Mt. Nebo, PA and Michael J. (Joyce) Cain of Elwood City and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers James M. Cain, Jr. and Edward J. Cain and her sister Virginia R. Cain.
Friends will be received Saturday & Sunday and from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer, where parting prayers will be conducted on Monday at 9:30 am with the funeral mass following in Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, St. Victor Church, Bairdford. Her brother Father Frederick L. Cain will officiate. She will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s of the Assumption Cemetery, Middle Road, Hampton. In lieu of flowers contributions can be sent to the Good Samaritan Hospice, 135 Marwood Road, Cabot, PA 16023.
