Michael Peter Ferraro, 91, of Indiana Township, died Monday, March 16, 2009, at Brookville Hospital. Born July 21, 1917, in Pittsburgh, Mike had lived in Dorseyville, Indiana Township, for more than 67 years. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Harmarville. Mr. Ferraro worked as a steel worker for the former Unit Rail Anchor Co. in Pittsburgh for more than 30 years. He enjoyed auto mechanics.
Survivors include two sons, Rodney Ferraro, at home, and Michael P. (Carol) Ferraro, of Brookville; two granddaughters; five great-grandchildren; three great-great-granddaughters; and a brother, Frank Ferraro, of Richland.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Beatrice (Ivsi) Ferraro; his wife, Henrietta J. (Weiter) Ferraro; and four sisters, Edith Fertino, Anna Mango, Clara Rizzo and Mary Ferraro.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer Township, where parting prayers will be held at 9:15 a.m. Thursday, followed by Christian Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Harmarville, with the Rev.
