Patrick Edward Roche

Patrick Edward “ED” Roche, 85 of West Deer Township, died Saturday March 28, 2026 at his home with his loving family by his side. Ed was born June 18, 1940 in Pittsburgh to the late Edward Patrick and Margaret (Gibson) Roche. He grew up in and lived in East Liberty section of Pittsburgh attending Westinghouse High School. Following high school, Ed enlisted in the US Army serving 6 years, then served in the Army Reserve for an additional 10 years. Following his discharge from the Army, Ed enlisted in the Navy Reserves, serving for an additional 10 years, serving his country for over 26 years. While serving in the reserves, Ed was employed at Ryerson Steel as an overhead crane operator, working for them for over 36 years. Ed loved going to the casino, watching Pittsburgh Steeler Football with family, vacationing in Florida, though especially loved family times with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years Marlene L. (Tedesco) Roche, his daughters Dawn M. Weiss of Indiana and Sherrie L. Troff and her fiancé Jeff Widdowfield from New Castle, his grandchildren Christopher (Amber) Fabec of Delmont, Nicolena Weiss and her fiancé Greg Garbera of New Ken, Gino Troff of Greensburg and Brendan Weiss of New Ken, his great-granddaughters Cali, Riley and Hailey as well as his nephew Mike Gibbons of NC.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Patricia Gibbons.

Friends will be received Tuesday and Wednesday from 1 to 4 PM and 6-9 PM in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer, were a blessing service will be conducted on Thursday at 11 AM, with the Rev. James P. Holland, officiating. Following he will be buried with full military honors in Lakewood Memorial Gardens, Indiana Township.
