Raymond D. Zier, 64 of Ford City, formerly of West Deer Township, died Thursday October 27, 2022 at his home. He was born April 11, 1958 in Blawnox to Clarence P. Zier and the late Margaret C. (Schreiber) Zier. Ray grew up in West Deer and graduated from Deer Lakes High School in 1976. Ray worked as a Union Tree Trimmer for many years working for various companies including Lewis Tree Service, Asplundh Tree Service and Davy Tree Service, just to name a few. He will be remembered for having a great sense of humor, making everyone laugh and he enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, riding his Harley Davidson, going to his camp.
Survivors include his son Christopher E. (Ashley K. Pointer) Zier of Natrona Heights, his grandchildren Emersyn and Vincenzo, and his father Clarence P. Zier of Zephyerhills, Fla, his siblings Ronald P. Zier of Curtisville, Rusty A. (Debbie) Zier of West Deer, Glenn D. (Michelle) Zier of Curtisville and Sandy (Joseph) Reibert of Curtisville.
Besides his mother he was preceded in death by his wife Deborah A. Markovich on April 28, 1998, his son Raymond D. Michaelis and his brother Micheal C. Zier.
