Reuben C. Leight, 85 of Bairdford, West Deer Township, died Sunday June 8, 2025 at his home. He was born June 23, 1939 in Shaler to the late Sherman A. and Dorothy E. (Frankenberg) Leight. Ruben grew up in Shaler and has lived in West Deer most of his life. He was a member of the Bairdford United Methodist Church, Bairdford. Reuben was a bus driver for the Hampton School District for over 35 years. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years Iva S. (Enos) Leight, step-daughter Edith Puwalowski of West Deer, 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren and his brothers Ralph Leight of West Deer and Sherman Leight of Shaler
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers John and Edward Leight, step-sons Ronald and Raymond Butler as well as 2 grandsons and a great-granddaughter.
Friends received Wednesday from 1:30 pm until the time of the funeral service at 3:30 pm, with the Rev. Jerry Pawloski, officiating in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer. He will be private laid to rest in Lakewood Memorial Gardens, Indiana Twp. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to the West Deer Dog Shelter, 109 East Union Road, Cheswick, PA 15024.
