Rev. William R. Carroll, Jr.

Rev. William R. Carroll, Jr. 83 of Slippery Rock, formerly of West Deer Township & Pittsburgh, died Sunday August 28, 2022 with his loving family by his side in, DeBary, Fla, where he loved to spend his winters. He was born July 20, 1939 in Pittsburgh to the late William R. Carroll, Sr. and Eleanor M. (Wakefield) Carroll. Rev. Carroll grew up in Pittsburgh graduating from Stony Brook Prep, Long Island, NY and then going on to achieve his Degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Carlow University. He served as a Student Local Pastor with the United Methodist Western Pennsylvania Conference the then as a Methodist Minister for over 20 years, serving at various churches including Harmarville United Methodist, Verona United Methodist, Bairdford United Methodist and Millerstown United Methodist Church until he retired in 2003. He then helped serve at the Bull Creek Presbyterian Church, filling in when needed. Rev. Carroll also was a member of the Masonic Lodge serving as a Past Master. He loved spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years Carolyn (Cleland) Carroll, his son William R. (Anna) Carroll, III of Pembroke Pines, Fla, granddaughters Fiona Carroll and Madison O’Brien and his siblings Timothy M. Carroll of Overbrook and Barbara Rook of Chicago.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter Ann Carroll O’Brien and his brothers Frederick and David Carroll.

Family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 pm in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer Twp., where funeral services will be held on Saturday 10 am with the Rev. W.
