Robert E. Callender, 75 of Frazer Twp., died May 11, 2022 at Pleasant Ridge Care Home, Leechburg with his boy’s by his side. He was born December 2, 1932 in Tarentum and has lived in Frazer Twp. for the past 47 years. Bob was a 1950 graduate of East Deer High School. He served his country during the Korean War in the US Army achieving the rank of Corporal. Returning from the War, he went to work at ALCOA, working as a Senior Staff Tech and Tool Maker, working for over 40 years. Bob was a member of Bairdford United Methodist Church, Bairdford, Alcoa 25 year Club, the American Legion, and the Allegheny Valley Optimist Club. He enjoyed golf, woodworking and gardening.
Survivors include his sons Jeffrey A. Callender of Raleigh, NC, Rob L. (Carol) Callender of Upper Burrell & Daniel G. (Vicki) Callender of West Deer, grandchildren Jessalin (Kevin) Barker of New Kensington, Marlee (Ethan) McCarty and Mason Callender both of West Deer, Casey Callender of Apollo and Jaron (Heather) Callender of Allegheny Twp., 6 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Barbara M. (Allen) Callender, his parents and his brother Alvin Callender.
At Bob’s request all viewing & services were private. He was privately buried next to his wife in Lakewood Memorial Gardens, Indiana Twp. Arrangements are entrusted to the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer Twp.
