Robert Corcoran Obituary

Robert G. Corcoran, 88 of West Deer Township died Saturday June 25, 2022 at UPMC-Passavant. He was born April 5, 1934 in Oberlin, KS to the late William “Jeff” J. and Helen (Traxler) Corcoran. Bob grew up on the family farm in Oberlin, KS and on a trip to Pittsburgh, met his late wife Patricia C. (Alexandrunas) Corcoran. They dated for a short time and married in 1967. Bob has lived in West Deer for the past 55 years. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, West Deer, the Knights of Columbus, John F. Kennedy Council, 5501 and the Queen of Angels (Fourth Degree) Council 2191. Bob was very active in his church as a volunteer, helping with the Community Fish Fry where you would see him every Wednesday and Friday and also helped anywhere he was asked including helping with decorating the church for the holidays. As a member of the Knights of Columbus, he took charge of outside maintenance of the building, cutting the grass, showing the building for rentals and has held most all of the positions, including Grand Knight, Assistant Grand Knight, Board of Director, Trustee, District Deputy and participated in the installation processed of many new members. As a Fourth Degree member of the Queen of Angels Council, he got involved with the Color Corps. They attended most local and state wide meetings, stood with honors for other forth degree members at their funerals. He also attended the Knights of Columbus Pittsburgh Chapter meetings holding a position there as well. He enjoyed traveling to KS to visit his family, being outside, farming, tending to his cattle, though mostly enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and his family.

Survivors include his son Anthony J. Corcoran with whom he lived, his daughter Helen M. (Regis) Kudrav of Claysville, his grandchildren Grant, Olivia and Clark, his brother Paul (Angela) Corcoran of Oberlin, KS and his sister Frances Nothdurft of Gillette, WY.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Patricia C. (Alexandrunas) Corcoran on June 17, 2018, his brothers Donald, Raymond, Bernard and Bruce Corcoran and his sister Barbara Ann Mitchell.

Friends will be received Thursday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer, where parting prayers will be conducted Friday at 9:30 am with a Catholic Funeral Mass at 10 am following in Our Lady if the Lakes Parish, Transfiguration Church, Russellton with the Rev. James Holland, officiating. He will be laid to rest with his wife in Mt. Royal Cemetery, Shaler Township.
