Robert John Scully

Robert J. (Whomper) Scully, 59 of Curtisville, West Deer Township, died unexpectedly in his sleep on Saturday February 14, 2026 at his home. He was born June 21, 1966 in Natrona Heights to the late Claude A. and Mabel J. (Walker) Scully. Rob grew up in Curtisville graduating from Deer Lakes High School in 1985. He has lived in Curtisville, West Deer all of his life. Shortly after high school, Rob went to work for Buhl Brothers Printing, New Kensington where he worked for over 10 years until they closed. He then went to work for Sir James Printing working for them for over 6 years. Rob then went to C.E. Holden, Inc. working for them for over 7 years. His working career continued to evolve going to work for Quality Asphalt for 3 ½ years until he had a cardiac event. After recovering, he worked for Smullen Asphalt for several years until he retired in 2019. Whomper loved hunting, fishing, working in his garage, driving his radio controlled cars as fast as they would go, anything involved with the outdoors, though the loves of his life were his wife, daughters and especially his grand-daughter Raelyn and his great niece Jaylee.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years Rose (Matijak) Scully, his daughters Alexandera “Lexy” M. (Nathan) Cavanaugh of West Deer and Heather G. Scully of Valencia, his step-daughters Angela M. Matijak at home and Sara Abadie of Burleson, TX and his granddaughter Raelyn. He is also survived by his brothers William (Kathy) Scully of West Deer, Ira J. (Sue) Scully of Winfield Township and Daniel E. (Cindy) Scully of West Deer.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his nephews Gregg W. Scully and Brian K. Scully.

Friends will be received Thursday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer. At Rob’s request all services and burial will be private.
