Ronald T. Powers, 82 of West Deer Township, died suddenly Friday January 24, 2025 at his home. He was born June 11, 1942 in Pittsburgh to the late Earl P. and Marie J. (Hartman) Powers. Ron has lived in West Deer for the past 55 years. He was a 1961 graduate of Hampton High School. Ron served his country in the US Army achieving the rank of Sargent. He was a member of the West Deer Sportsman Club and the Sheet Metal workers Union 12, working in the industry over 40 years and a member of the union for over 50 years. Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, NASCAR, and remodeling, and loved his family most of all.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years Margaret E. “Margie” (Furlong) Powers, his daughter Julie L. Bowser of Russellton, his son Ronald J. (Becky) Powers of Erie, grandchildren Dylan, Michael, Madelyn, Christopher, Bryce, Bree, T.J. and Taylor, great-grandchildren Sydney, Carter and Zaelie, his sister Ruth A. (Robert) Ault of Bell Township, sister-in-law Flora A. Pelicone of Indiana Township and brother-in-law Robert I. (Debbi) Kier of Sebastian, FL.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Earl P. Powers and his sisters L’Rae M. Powers and Jeanne M. Schouter.
Friends received Tuesday from 2-4 pm & 6-8 pm in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer, where services will be conducted Wednesday 10 am with the Rev. James C. Ramsey, officiating. He will be laid to rest in Lakewood Memorial Gardens, Indiana Township.
