Rowena Joyce (Fulbright) Gbur

Rowena Joyce (Fulbright) Gbur, 92 of Russellton, West Deer Township, died Monday September 15, 2025 at AHN Wexford. She was born January 30, 1933 in Oak Ridge, MO to the late Dock and Marie (McLane) Fulbright. She has lived in West Deer for the past 72 years. Rowena was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Lyndora. She worked at the Pentagon in Washington DC for a few years as a clerk and typist prior to her marriage, then after she married she co-owned and operated Gbur’s Market in Russellton for many years. Rowena loved her flower gardening though her priority was always her family, she was an amazing Mother/Grandmother.

Survivors include her children Joseph (Janice-Strenk) Gbur, III of Liburn, GA, Philip Gbur of Alexandria, VA and Justina M. (Donald) Fiedler of Economy; grandchildren Jeffrey A. Gbur, Madeline M. Fiedler and Cora Joyce Fiedler.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Gbur, Jr., January 31, 2004 and her siblings Marjorie Vernette Martin, Acie D. “Bud” Fulbright and Martha Roesch.

Friends received Friday from 2 - 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer, where a funeral service will be held Saturday at 10am with the Rev. Yurii Bobko, officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Deer Creek Cemetery, Harmar Twp.
