Rudy C. Truckley, 84 of Curtisville, West Deer Township died Saturday June 28, 2025 at Quality Life Services – Sarver. He was born July 1, 1940 in Frazer Township to the late Paul M. and Mary V. (Polka) Truckley. Rudy has lived in West Deer his entire life. He worked as a home builder & in construction helping to build all the homes in Fawn Haven #2 & #3 for the Andy Guard Corp & Blawnox Corp. He served his country in the US Army and then in the job that he loved as a Police Officer for West Deer Township retiring as a Sergeant after over 25 years. He also served as a Township Supervisor. Rudy was a life member of the West Deer Sportsman Club and Owl’s Club in Russellton. He was a 50-year member of the FOP Lodge #91, the American Legion Post 773, Millcreek Township, Erie. He was also a proud member of the Sara Campground of Erie where he was known as the Mayor and camp-master. Rudy was also a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, West Deer. He enjoyed anything that had to do with the outdoors, helping friends, all type of sports, walking, summers in Erie at Sara’s Campground, enjoyed watching the Steelers, the Pirates and the Penguins, going to the casino and the race track, listening to classic country music.
Surviors include his wife of 63 years Sandra J. (White) Truckley, his son Rudy “Buddy” (Gina) Truckley of Clinton Township, and his daughter Shelly (Ronald) Moretti of Clinton Township, grandchildren Cody, Skylar, Nicholas, Christopher, Shauna, Mackenzie, Lauren and Lindsey, great-granddaughter Laney Saeler, siblings John Truckley of Valencia & Dolores Kraynick of Greensburg.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter Pamela J. Truckley, his grandson Ronald Moretti, Jr., and his siblings Paul, Louis, and Larry.
Family will receive friends Wednesday from 5-8 pm the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer, where a blessing service will be held Thursday 10 am with the Rev. James P. Holland, officiating. He will be laid to rest with full military honors in Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Frazer Twp.
