Sean O'Rourke Obituary

Sean Patrick O’Rourke, 46 of Unity Township, formerly of West Deer Township, passed unexpectedly on Saturday January 17, 2026, at his home. He was born in Pittsburgh on September 13, 1979, to Raymond E. O’Rourke and the late Mary Jo (Cain) O’Rourke, who passed on January 15, 2026. Sean grew up in West Deer, graduating from Deer Lakes High School in 1997. While in high school, Sean played hockey for the school team. He later achieved an associate’s degree from CCAC in Applied Science, specializing in Occupational Therapy. Sean served his country in the United States Army Reserves for over 7 years as a Combat Engineer.  He deployed, during Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2003-2005 where he and his team searched and cleared the roads of Iraq of roadside bombs. In his civilian life, Sean worked for SBM Management Services as a Warehouse Supervisor. Prior to this job, he worked as the Development Project Manager for Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs, Inc., as the key person in developing advocates and establishing funding streams for the non-profit organization. He was also responsible for researching opportunities and coordinating attendance at events nationwide to develop need and organization awareness, while traveling to nationwide events overseeing his development team. He had also worked for Priority One as an Emergency Vehicle Operator in Braddock. Sean was the team Captain and Assistant General Manager of the Pittsburgh Warrior Disabled Veteran Hockey Team and was one of their community representatives at events. He was also a Planning Committee member for the annual Deer Lakes Hockey Maura C. Rupprecht Alumni Game. Sean loved his family, his dogs, playing hockey and spending time with his wife and sons.

Survivors include his wife of 5 years Victoria “Tori” A. Schuster, his sons Parker M. and Brooks P. O’Rourke and his stepson Logan M. Hinojosa of Long Beach, CA, his father, Raymond Elmer O’Rourke of West Deer, his brothers Raymond Erin (John) O’Rourke of Dormont and Kevin S. (Erin) O’Rourke of West Deer, and his nephew Jacob (Ashley) Hice and his niece Elora O’Rourke.

Friends will be received Monday 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer, where parting prayers will be conducted on Tuesday at 9:30 am with the funeral mass following in Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, St. Victor Church, Bairdford. His Uncle Father Frederick L. Cain will officiate. On Wednesday at 1:30 PM all are welcome to the committal at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville, Pa 15017, where he will be buried with full military honors by his Reserve Unit.
