Stella T. (Godlewski) Ostrowski, 106, of Curtisville, West Deer Township, died Saturday October 1, 2022 at the Vincentian Home, McCandless. Stella has lived in Curtisville most of her life. She was born November 9, 1915 in Millvale to the late Joseph and Stella (Rapczinski) Godlewski. Stella worked for the Armour Meat Packing Co., Pittsburgh for over 30 years retiring in 1979. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, West Deer. Stella excelled at gardening and cooking. She cherished spending time with her family. Her oven never failed to feed everyone who stopped in for Sunday supper. She loved caring for all of God’s creatures who visited her home and she shared stories with many, of the marvelous way she saw God’s hand in nature.
Survivors include her children Marion L. Fedak of Hampton, Carl M. (Barbara) Ostrowski of Valencia, Ronald E. Ostrowski of Russellton and Richard J. (Rebecca) Ostrowski of Curtisville; 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 26 great-great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-great-grandchildren
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ignatius Ostrowski, her sons Walter and Thomas Ostrowski, her sisters Sophie Zalewski, Catherine Maciak, Josephine Skurka and Irene Garbos, and her brothers Leo, Walter, Steve, Stanley and Edward Godlewski.
Family will receive friends Tuesday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer Twp., where parting prayers will be Wednesday 9:30 AM with a Catholic Funeral Mass following at 10 AM in Our Lady of the Lakes Parish – Transfiguration Church, Russellton.
