William Robert Rovnak

William Robert Rovnak, 79 of Dorseyville, Indiana Township, died Saturday October 5, 2024 at his home with his loving family by his side. Bill was born September 10, 1945 in Natrona Heights to the late Andrew and Katherine E. (Doman) Rovnak. Bill grew up and graduated from East Deer High School in 1963. He worked for over 43 years for PPG Industries at various locations as a systems analyst and supervisor. Bill served his country in the US Army Reserve. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, West Deer and could be found volunteering for the Church Community Fish Fry each year. He was also involved with the Indiana Township DARE program, the Scouts and coaching soccer & baseball, he also helped with Indiana Township Corn Carnival many years ago. Bill enjoyed traveling in his RV, golf, winters in Arizona, hiking and playing family games, though his family was his first priority.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years Norene (Sublinsky) Rovnak, his children Timothy W. (Tiffany) Rovnak of Tempe, AZ, Tamara N. Grimes of Bellingham, WA and Todd J. Rovnak of Tempe, AZ, grandchildren Elias, Adelie, Isaac, Jamison and Sean, siblings Andrew S. (Kayla) Rovnak of Oklahoma, Kathleen M. Rovnak of Reading, MA and John P. (Sydney) Rovnak of DuPoint, WA.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his son Thomas S. Rovnak and his brother James A. Rovnak.

Friends will be received Friday October 25, 2024 from 4pm to 8pm at the SIWICKI-YANNICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer Twp., where a blessing service will be conducted on Saturday October 26, at 12:00 Noon with the Rev. James P. Holland and the Rev. Curt Bruneski officiating.  He will be laid to rest next to his son in Lakewood Memorial Gardens, Indiana Twp. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent payable to “The University of Pittsburgh for Mesothelioma Cancer Research” and mailed to UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, 5150 Centre Avenue, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15232 or online at https://hillmanpowerofhope.org/.
