John “Fatman” Chelecki, 66 of West Deer Township, died Wednesday February 21, 2024 at Cheswick Rehabilitation and Wellness Center, Indiana Township. He was born January 18, 1958 in Buffalo, NY to the late John J. and Helen D. (Verb) Chelecki. John grew up in West Deer and was a member of the Class of 1976. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, West Deer. Fatman was a very hard and dedicated worker working as a Chef in the Key West, FL area, then as a manager and rebuilder of a campground in TX and more recently as a contractor for Advanced Construction. He enjoyed raising animals, gardening, growing trees, cooking, camping, fishing and loved his friends and family.
Survivors include his brother Ronald R. (Cheryl) Chelecki of Fredonia, NY, sister-in-law Mary Chelecki of Sarver, nieces and nephews Charlie, Christina, Courtney, Katie, Jennifer, Crystal, John, Cheri and Angel.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother J. Charles Chelecki, his sister Deborah Young and his niece Roseann T. Chelecki.
Friends received Monday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer Township, where parting prayers will be conducted Tuesday 9 am with a funeral mass following in Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, Transfiguration Church. He will be laid to rest near his parents in Lakewood Memorial Gardens, Indiana Township.
