Lee Consolaro

February 8, 1919 ~ April 22, 2016 (age 97) 97 Years Old

Lee Consolaro, 97 formerly of West Deer, died April 22, 2016. Born February 8, 1919 in Curtisville to the late Pasquale and Lucia (DelMaso) Consolaro. Lee lived in West Deer most of his life. Lee served his country in the Army Air Corps during WWII as a Corporal in the Medical Corp receiving three Bronze stars. He served in the India-Burma, China and Central Burma, there he was on the Crash Crew, later became a Lab Technician and then a general dispensing clerk. A member of Transfiguration R.C. Church, he worked as a coal miner for over 5 years in the Ford Colleries Mine in Curtisville. He was a part owner with his brothers opening Consolaro Brothers Chrysler and Service Station in Curtisville from 1946 until 1956 they represented Kaiser-Frazer, Willies-Jeep and were a sub-dealer for Ford, then in 1956 they became a full Chrysler dealer until 1972 when it was sold. Lee was a life member of West Deer VFD #1 and was the oldest member of the American Legion. He enjoyed gardening, playing poker, watching local baseball teams and spending time with his friends and family.

Survivors include his daughters Sandra L. Crump of Butler with whom he has lived these past two years, Dianne Werner of SC and Donna M. (Walter) Mrozinski of South Jersey, his grandchildren Josua Mroziniski, Rachel (John) Patty, David (Kelly) Werner and Wayne (Barbara) Nielsen and his sister Elsie Tarabeck of Natrona Heights.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Florence E. (Tadajski) Consolaro, brothers Victor, Joseph, John and Rudolph Consolaro and his sisters Patricia Wisneski and Jacquelyn Barone.

At Lee's request all viewing, services and burial will be private. Arrangements were entrusted to the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer Township. He was laid to rest next to his wife in Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Frazer Township. The family suggests Memorial Contributions be sent in Lee's name to the West Deer VFD #1, 1520 Saxonburg Blvd. Tarentum, PA 15084.
